For months, police have sought the suspects, who obtained a credit card in the Hudson Valley using a falsified New Jersey driver’s license before committing a similar scheme in Connecticut.
Police said that the two female suspects entered a Zale’s jewelry store at the Galleria Crystal Run Mall in Wallkill on Aug. 19 to obtain a falsified license with their victim’s biographical information. That credit card was then used to make a purchase at the mall.
Two days later, police said that a similar incident was reported at Macy’s in Danbury, Conn., where the same victim’s name and information was used to make additional purchases.
In October, state police released surveillance video of the pair from the jewelry store, but the two have eluded police since. Anyone with information regarding the suspects or who make recognize them have been asked to contact Det. Brian Marsh by calling (609) 861-5698.
